PBIS at Parkwood

What is PBIS?

PBIS teaches students to display good behavior and rewards them when they make good choices. PBIS stands for "Positive Behavior Interventions and Support." Some behavior components of the program include:

 

  • A common approach to discipline
  • Positively stated expectations for all students and staff. 
  • Procedures for teaching expectations
  • Continuum of procedures for encouraging demonstration and maintenance of expectations. 
  • Procedures for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the system on a regular basis.

Develop a matric that works for your family. 

Teach children what being respectful, responsible and safe looks like at home.

A cool tool is a lesson for PBIS expected behavior. Some examples of Cool Tools are:

  • Hallway behavior
  • Lunchroom/Recess behavior
  • Treating people kindly
